When writing up the skills for your character, you must keep in mind three important guidelines:

• Every character has a somewhat unique skillset that defines them.
• No character knows how to do everything.
• The more skills your character has, the less skilled he or she should be in those skills.

While there are certain exceptions to those basic guidelines, as a generality, they are very good to keep in mind.
