Magic is a part of life, and in a world like the Marvel Universe, it is a quantifiable and real part of life. However, there are varying degrees to which it exists and this is largely dependent upon the pure power level of the magic. Great magics, on par with Doctor Strange, are rare. While in the Marvel Universe there is but one Sorcerer/Sorceress Supreme for each dimension, we interpret this to being a 'guardian' or someone taking on a particular role of responsibility magically. It does not mean that they are the be-all end-all of magic in the world of Mutatis Mutandis. With these things in mind, certain types of magic are a rarity and others are not. Magickal beings and artifacts are rare, and the more potent these beings and items are, the more rare they shall be. There is only one Juggernaut, and finding a god like Cyttorak to bestow you with a geas is not a trivial thing. As with all things, moderation. Mages and magical beings and artifacts are welcome on the MUX but in moderation. If you have any questions about such characters, please talk to a staff person. Little magicks, such as sprinkling salt over a doorway to ward off evil, can be done by anyone with the knowledge and enough training to get the intent down right. When in doubt, treat magical characters the same as you would mutant or alien charactersthere will be fewer characters with awesome power, and more characters with mundane levels of power. Of course Feature Characters who cast magic are an exception to this policy and will always be welcome on the MUX, though some are much more appropriately Temp Characters than full-time participants. |
