Teams are great vehicles for roleplay. They encourage people to work together, help break down barriers that might exist for newbies, and in general can contribute to the quality of the roleplay on the MUX.

You do not need to be a member of a team but in the course of play it is entirely likely that you end up in one. Keep in mind that teams are not there to be cliques. Teams are there to help add to the environment, not isolate it.

Note that teams do not need to exist as OOC entities for them to exist as IC entities. OOC entities are only created when there are enough players to make the creation worthwhile. Teams can be entitled to things like builders, @maliases, +rosters, and bboards.
