  Combat Guide: Overview
[index] [overview] [take turns] [no cutting] [pose with caution] [respect others] [pay attention] [damage and injuries] [stopped time]

As you know, there isn't a stat or number system here. We are all here to Roleplay and that doesn't necessarily mean to fight. If that was the case, then this would be a MUD. We trust our players to RP combat situations fairly and true to your character's powers and abilities. However, there are a few guidelines that you do indeed need to follow if you are going to participate in a combat situation. They are outlined in NEWS Combat Guidelines. Also, keep in mind that even though we do not have a judging system, per say, you are more than welcome to have a neutral party mediate the situation or you can call on the RP Staff for mediating or judging. All decisions laid down by the RP Staff would be final and only could be overturned by an RP Wizard. If you run into a problem or a question and there are not any STAFF online, feel free to log the event and send it to the RP Wizards for answers/review.

First and foremost, when entering a situation that leads to combat or perhaps entering a fight in progress, you need to ask yourself if it would in fact be IC for your character to participate. Just because you are OOCly in a bad mood and would like to blow off some steam doesn't mean an IC fight would be appropriate for your character. If it is, the please take precautions to follow these guidelines as best you can:

Make sure you have all the details first. This is to say that you are aware of the immediate situation at hand and know where everyone involved is located. This will cut down on any confusion.
