These characters are not from another genre, comic universe, or what have you. These characters are (for the most part) creations of their players. An original character may be either Themed or Non-Themed -- the point is, it is a character that is original in its conception and has not been published somewhere by someone other than yourself. The more original a character is, the better. We do not want clones and copies of other characters in general.

While it is true that many player created characters are part original and part taken from somewhere else, modified to suit the needs of the player and requirements of the MUX, these are just that—more composite or modified characters than they are original works.
