[index] [featured] [non-featured] [themed] [non-themed] [original] [post continuity] [non-player] These are characters that originate Outside the Marvel Universe. They can have their origins anywhere else. A character from another Comics universe is just fine, as is an original character from a another universe. These characters can come from any genre, but it is strongly recommended that the basic idea for the character be sketched out and sent in to the site prior to writing an application. There are certain characters and types of characters who will not be allowed on MMM. Because this list of characters is fluid, it is not provided. While Mutatis Mutandis is an X-Men MUX, we do have a more open policy regarding non-themed characters than many of the other X-Mushes. However, because MMM is an X-MUX, we reserve the right to simply deny any application for a non-themed character. One of the most important things to consider is continuity. If something has already been established in some way as part of the MUX universe, then you must adhere to that precedent. For example, Star Trek is a television show. Married with Children is a television show. These things are already established as cultural icons in the game world. In order for Spock to suddenly appear on MMM, or Al Bundy to walk into the room, reality would need to be warped, and this is a Bad Thing. Another important consideration is comparative power levels. It might not seem like it, but the X-Universe is generally weaker when compared to the DC Universe. Look at people like Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Supermandespite popular conjecture, it is the opinion of the Wizards on MMM that these individuals' power levels dwarf that of the average person found in the X-Universe.
Who can you apply for? Who would not be considered? Well, truly cosmically powered characters won't be allowed. We need to maintain game balance. There are some characters that generally would not fit. Or more specifically, won't fit outside their own context. No list of these characters will be printed because it is a flexible list. If you should wish to apply for a non-themed character, do not hesitate to do so, but keep in mind that it may be rejected. Before beginning an application, either talk to a wizard, or email the site stating your intended character application. We don't want you to spend weeks on an application for a character that simply would not be allowed on the MUX. |
