  Character Alteration Tips
[index] [basics] [application] [tips]

Let your character be your guide. If you're doing things perfectly IC then everything you need or want will be obvious to you and everyone else. When you need a change, send it to *CA or post on the CA bboard.

BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE RATIONALE. We cannot stress this enough. 'I just thought it would be fun' is sometimes good, but 'I just thought it would be fun plus I met Mystique IC at the Hellfire Club and we conspired with Shaw to take over the world together.' is much much better.

Submit all requested character changes AS THEY WILL APPEAR IN YOUR +STATS. We want to see, in addition to whatever else you happen to send us, exactly what you want to have show up on your character once the alteration is approved.

If a TP is required send it to *TP and refer back to the *CA application by title of the @mail. Note that we much, much prefer to get changes that are entirely IC, discussed previously with staff, or clarifications on existing abilities. Gained powers should, as a rule, happen slowly. The goal here is not to stifle creativity and progress, but to maintain play balance throughout the MUX. This is not to say that a well researched, well described, carefully supported application will be deep sixed, it simply means we aren't that interested in how you suddenly found the second Cytorrak crystal... Unless its really *REALLY* good. Consider that a Challenge. :>

That said, we *are* interested in changes of a temporary nature, for the purposes of one TP or another, particularly if the TP involves other people on the MUX.
