  Character Activity: Temporary
[index] [regular] [semi-active] [temporary] [policy]

Temporary Characters are those which are required for only a short period of time for the completion of a tiny plot. This is not the same thing as getting a human or throwaway character with intent to kill off the character. These are characters who are just people that are not usual characters on the MUX and who are needed for an appearance in a tinyplot.

Temporary characters exist for brief periods of time on the MUX. That is to say, they are temporary. These characters are designed to disappear from the face of the MUX at the end of some previously determined period of time. Temporary characters might be given leniency during the application process simply because they are temporary—game balance is not going to be threatened.

However, should a Temp Character wish to become a permanent character, a full and standard application must be submitted and pursued. Temp Characters might well be asked to take power-downs in order to fit into the MUX's balance of power on a daily basis. The existence of a particular temporary character in no way guarantees the eventual existence of the same character as a regular player character.

The thoroughness of a temp character's application should be proportional to the length of time which the temp character will be required. If in doubt, consult a wizard.

It is entirely acceptable to recruit for Temp Characters on the bulletin board for Characters.

Send the completed application to apps@mutatismutandis.org with 'TC: <name of character>' in the subject of the letter.
